Scanning Light Effect for 2010 / 2011 Camaro SS
NOTE: Shipping of lights is on pause at the moment. The website hasn't been accepting orders for a couple of months. We use a production company for assemby, they have moved offices and getting geared up again for production, we havn't received lights from them for some time. I run Knightlight by myself. There isn't profit in the lights to employ anyone to help out, so I am on my own with sorting out issues. With 1800 emails in a couple of months, there are a fair few to get though as I have been away from emails since the beginning of November. I will try to get though the emails as soon as possible.
Knightlight have developed a light to fit in the mail slot of the Camaro SS. The 5th Gen Camaro is an awesome looking car, just owning this car shows you like to stand out. With this Knight Rider scanning effect light you can stand out more, being individual. The light will fit in the mail slot on the Camaro SS (black slot between the hood and the grill). No body work modifications, the last thing you want to do is cut parts of your camaro away, so we have developed a light where you dont have to. It is made using 64 LED's and each LED is controlled by the controller, this creates a smooth movements, not done in blocks of LED's making only 8 segments.
Please Note: The lights should only be used as a static car show, NOT on the road. It is against the law in many places operating a moving or flashing light on a vehicle .
We have many orders to complete which will take us a number of weeks. We are very excited about producing this scanning light for this awesome machine, and always thinking of ways to make it even better. There has been a discussion about our Scanner lights on the Camaro5 forum.
There may be budget scanner lights on the internet, we regard our scanner lights to be the best on the internet, with its fading trail effect and many segments, others just don't come close. High quality assembly, unique design using surface mount components much like mobile phones, coated in a tough rubber coating that we have tested to extremes and the light still functions.
This Camaro Scanner light has the following features:-

The 64 LED's are fitted into a plastic mount and will clip in place or original plastic. The light gives a very smooth moving effect due to the amount of LED's lighting independently. No body modifications required, and easy to wire.
Installation Information
Bascially the instal is pulling out the orginal mail slot insert, popping in the LED one, thread through the ribbon cable to the controller. Put the connector on the end of the ribbon and plugging into the control board, and then powering the control board. Detailed install instructions>>
Scanner Light with Remote Control Keyfob
This will be our standard item for the KS4264 product. The keyfob control gives the user choice of patterns and speed. There are 5 patterns selectable, and over 100 speed settings. The Red button select on./off. While the light is on, the Circle button moves onto the next pattern. The Triangle button takes you in to speed edit mode, the the Red and Circle button acts as speed control up / down, and then the Triangle button takes you out of speed mode. Once in normal running mode and the on/off is pressed. The display will blank, to run the pattern just once, press the triangle button.Single Colour Camaro Scanning Lights

Dual Colour Camaro Scanning Lights
The two LED colours are fitted alternatley along the length. By having two colours they will mix to produce one overall colour. Simular to a TV screen, if you look close enougth you will see Red/Green and Blue dots, by energising all three you get White. We have no plans to make a tripple coloured light but its the basis that our dual colour light work on. This model of the light is programmed slightly different to the single colour version. Using the triangle button on the keyfob take you into speed mode, pressing again lets you adjust the colour.
Why does is the cost the same as single colour?
The light is still using 64 LED's, so cost of manufacture does not increase. However does require different proramming. The colour selection is an addition of the pattern button. |

Keyfob
The camaro scanning lights listed above come with a keyfob remotre control. You can order an additional one if you have lost one or if you want to have a spare, the control board in the control box can learn upto 50 keyfobs at one time, so running an extra is no problem at all.

MKII Controller
The camaro scanning lights come with a controller. If you are an existing customer and wish to upgrade for more patterns then this is the way to go. You can program your original keyfob to work with this controller.
